In order to proceed with TowerChat you need to read and understand the following:

Basic rules for being safe in chat:
1.Be careful - people online may not be who they say they are.
2.Don't give out any personal information (e.g. where you live, your school, telephone number etc) - you may end up being contacted by people you don't want to hear from.
3.Never arrange to meet someone offline unless you are sure who they are; go accompanied (if you are under 18 by your parent or carer); and meet in a public place.

What are the dangers in chat:
The real danger of young people using our chat rooms comes from the people who wish to develop a relationship with them with the intention of contacting them offline.
When you are in a chat area you are in a very public place. You don't necessarily know the true identity of anyone you are talking to in our chat rooms. Some people can pretend to be helpful and compassionate to gain the trust of the young people by being keen to 'listen' to their problems and provide friendship, but reality can be very different! Beware!

How to keep safe in chat
If you think you are not a little kid who can get into trouble, you are terribly mistaken. In fact it could be anyone: you friends online and offline, your relatives and your children. If you think you are safe chatting at home you are wrong again. As you use the Internet and TowerChat rooms in particular, always be on your guard.
It may seem to you like fun to talk to the people you don't know, but be very careful if they start asking you for your home address, phone number and other personal information. It may seem OK, but don't get into the trap. Remember that strangers can be good or bad. Get to know a person before coming into personal contact. Sometimes an adult can pretend to be a kid or vice-versa. Remember that if someone in our chat rooms says anything insulting or threatening, it is not your fault. If it happens you can always complain to us, your hosts at support@towerchat.com. If someone asks you to do something you can always say 'no'. Remember, it is up to you to watch your own safety.

CHILDREN UNDER 16 MAY NOT REGISTER FOR TOWERCHAT OR USE ANY TOWERCHAT SERVICES THAT REQUIRE PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION.
